Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Cultural festivals represent a vital aspect of heritage and identity, serving as platforms for preserving traditions and fostering community cohesion. The Argungu Fishing Festival in Argungu LGA, Kebbi State, stands out as a globally recognized cultural event, attracting visitors and media coverage from around the world. However, reporting on such festivals involves navigating a complex interplay of logistical, ethical, and cultural challenges. Journalists must balance the need to inform and educate with respect for cultural sensitivity and accuracy. 1.2 Statement of the Problem
